Police closed off a major road in Croydon last night following a crash between a motorbike and a car on Purley Way.
The motorcyclist was injured, witnesses have said, and was taken to hospital as a priority following the collision shortly before 5.30pm.
Police have since confirmed the driver's injuries were not serious.
A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service (LAS) said: “We were called at 5.26pm today to reports of a road traffic collision on Purley Way.
“We sent an ambulance to the scene, arriving within six minutes. We treated a patient and took them as a priority to a hospital in south London.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Police were called at 5.30pm on March 9 to Purley Way with the junction of Foxley Lane to a motorcycle and a car.
“LAS were called. No one was seriously injured. One person was taken to hospital. Injuries are not serious.”
One witness wrote on Twitter: “Motorcyclist been knocked off his bike just up from Purley cross towards Purley way, avoid it if possible.”
