A KNUTSFORD dinner lady has lost half of her body weight after dropping 12 stone.

Jenny Currie, a 40-year-old mother-of-two, has used a combination of healthy diet and exercise to drop from 22 stone to 10.

Jenny, who works at St Vincent’s Catholic Primary School, used 24-hour-gym, Anytime Fitness based in Canute Place to steadily get down to a weight that she is happy with.

She said: “, “It started with weekly visits to the doctor to get weighed, that became my goal and jumping on the scales kept me motivated, even if it was just a few pounds it spurred me on. I can’t believe the affect the extra weight was having on my body, getting about was a struggle, but now I have more energy and confidence and can easily keep up with the kids.”

Jenny is a firm believer that in order to loser weight people have to want to. She now takes time to try and inspire others to lose weight.

She said: “Don’t go for quick fixes, steadily is the best way, but you really have to decide to commit to it and if you really want to, you can.

“Cutting down on what you eat is a start, but it isn’t the full picture. I continue to eat well, but because of exercising I can have treats such as a takeaway at weekend or my absolute favourite salted peanuts.

“Exercise, although a challenge at first really is the way to lose weight and keep it off. But you need people around you, so going to the Anytime Fitness gym has been great, so instead of jumping on the scales it’s the treadmill.”

Jenny has put her weight loss down to having the right frame of mind as well as getting encouragement and support from family and friends, plus regular visits to the doctor.
