HOLMES Chapel's new community centre will be officially opened by Paralympic Gold medallist’s Megan Giglia and Sophie Thornhill next month.

Everybody Sport and Recreation in partnership with Holmes Chapel Parish Council has recently refurbished Holmes Chapel Community Centre, which now houses a brand new Taste for Life cafe and bar, community and function rooms and the Everybody Academy training suite, as well as the leisure facilities which opened November 2015.

Peter Hartwell, chief executive of Everybody Sport and Recreation, said: “We feel privileged to have both Megan and Sophie officially open Holmes Chapel Community Centre.

"2016 has been an incredible year for sport in Cheshire East and to have two Paralympic Gold Medallists from our region open the Centre is a real honour and we thank them for sharing this momentous day with us.”

The open day will run from 10am to 3pm on November 12 and is a chance for everybody to come down and view the brand new facilities as well as enjoy a range of fun activities for all the family.

Megan and Sophie will officially open the centre at 12.30pm.

Everybody Sport and Recreation will be offering a range of exclusive offers for the launch of the brand new facilities such as discount vouchers on room hire, free personal training sessions, an exclusive membership offer for the weekend only, free classes and competitions.

There will be a range of activities to take part in on the day such as, smoothie making on Everybody Sport and Recreation’s smoothie bike, paint bikes, life support sessions provided by the Everybody Academy, bouncy castle, stalls and much more.

Cllr Brian Bath, from Holmes Chapel Parish Council, who is the council's representative on the community centre's joint management committee, said: "It is a real pleasure to see the refurbished social areas and external changing rooms completed and they will complement the already open fitness and gym facilities.

"We encourage residents to visit the community centre on the opening weekend – November 12 to 13 - to see the completed refurbished areas and there will be many activities and village organisations present.

“There has been a significant effort by many parties to bring back these facilities for community use and the end result is everything we wanted to achieve.

"The investment in these social facilities on behalf of residents by the parish council and by Everybody Sport and Recreation will provide great facilities now and for the future and enable residents and others to have a great place to meet and enjoy for many years to come.

"We are particularly pleased that the "Taste for Life" bar and lounge area will be open in the near future offering coffee and light refreshments and encourage residents to come and enjoy these facilities."

Everybody Sport and Recreation is encouraging the community and businesses to have a stall on Saturday, November 12 to show case what they have to offer. If you are interested in having a free stall please contact enquiries@everybody.org.uk for more information.
