AN innovative charity bra recycling scheme is returning for 2016, with its founder hoping to beat last year’s success.

After collecting more than 1,000 bras last year, Kate Wadsworth, of Over Peover, is relaunching her collection for the Against Breast Cancer bra appeal.

The scheme takes unwanted bras to raise vital funds for pioneering breast cancer research, with the charity aiming to prevent secondary spread, which is the main cause of breast cancer-related deaths.

“We all have one or two bras lurking in our drawers that no longer fit or are looking a bit tired,” Kate said.

“It’s really easy to donate and it really does make a difference.

“We were overwhelmed by the support we received last year and are looking to make it even bigger this year so please, please donate.

“Just donating one bra can make an incredible difference.”

The bras will also help support small businesses in Africa, with a textile recovery projecting giving them a new lease of life in countries such as Togo, Ghana and Kenya.

Donation stations can be found at Over Peover bus stop, in Stocks Lane, 51 Station Road, Goostrey, Holmes Chapel Community Centre, in Station Road, Holmes Chapel Leisure Centre, in Selkirk Drive, Holmes Chapel Scouts HQ, in Parkway, and Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, in Selkirk Drive.
