GHOSTS and ghouls are welcomed to Knutsford for the fourth year of the family Pumpkin Path event.

The event, which has been a hit with hundreds of families from across the town and neighbouring villages, will take place on Monday, October 31.

Eighteen pumpkins will be hidden in shop windows presenting letters which spell out ‘Knutsford Halloween’, and little monsters are invited to find them.

Entry forms can be found in most shops and restaurants and 2000 will be going into primary school reading bags ahead of the event.”

“Now four years, how time has flown,” said Stefanie Meachin, assistant brand business development manager at Gusto and co-organiser of the Pumpkin Path. “We are so excited for another fantastic and spooky evening. Lots of people have been asking for weeks if it was going ahead. It will be great to see so many people join us.”

Many shops will stay open late on the night to hand out treats, and Silk Mill Street car park will see another finale at 7pm, one dubbed ‘not to be missed’ by organisers.

Julia Chard owner of Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe and co-organiser, added: “Looking forward to another very busy Knutsford Pumpkin Path.

“Many thanks in advance to the local primary schools for their help in sending home the postcards in the children's reading bags.

“Big thanks also to Knutsford Town Council for their grant, allowing us to bring in an event management team to support us on the night.”

Road closures will take place on King Street, Minshull Street and Church Hill from 4pm and the event will run from 5pm to 8pm.

All other roads are open and children must be supervised at all times.

The First Aid and lost child point will be situated outside Clare and Illingworth Opticians on Old Market Street Car Park.

There will also be wristbands available for children which can be used to display important contact information.

These will be available from stewards on the night.
