A KNUTSFORD garden centre team has completed a half marathon to raise more than £1,500 for a children’s charity.

Jill Kerr, at Fryer’s Roses in Manchester Road along with Alan Roper, the managing director of Blue Diamond which owns the garden centre and Richard Hemans, the finance director, completed the challenge on Sunday, October 9.

The group completed the race for Phab Kids the children’s division of the national charity Phab which supports disabled and disadvantaged children and adults.

The club has more than 170 clubs across England and Wales which offer activities to give members greater freedom.

The team continues to support the charity with the sale of its ‘Phab Gold’ rose.

Alan said: “Staff at all 18 Blue Diamond garden centres, family and friends have been so supportive of our efforts and in sponsoring us. I am delighted to have completed the run without too many side effects and to have been able to raise money for Phab Kids.”

A percentage of the sales of the rose will go to the charity, when ordered direct from Phab.
