KNUTSFORDIANS will have the chance to make their mind up over the country's future in Europe in a 'Question Time' style event taking place at the town's Academy next month.

Knutsford Academy has teamed up with the Guardian to host the event on Friday, June 10 at 7pm.

Britain has to go to the polls on June 23 to decide if it wants to remain in the European Union,

We have assembled a panel of local politicians and Knutsford Academy A Level students to answer your questions in a format similar to BBC Question Time.

The speakers will be confirmed in next week's Guardian but the panel will be made up of two A-level students from the school and four politicians from the north west.

The panel will be balanced with three guests in the 'Remain' camp and the other three arguing the country should 'Leave' the European Union.

James Routs, from the Academy, said: "We are delighted to be hosting the EU Referendum debate here at Knutsford Academy and to also have two of our A Level students, Haedyn Johnson and Tom Dalzell, participating on the panel.

"Our aim is for the evening to not only provide lively debate but to help and inform the audience of the impact to either remain part of the EU or choosing to exit."

James Wilson, deputy editor for the Guardian, added: "Following last year's hustings event for the general election, the Academy has kindly offered to host this event on the EU referendum.

"It will be a great chance for Knutsfordians to ask questions of the panel and see if they can get any answers ahead of the vote on June 23."

The event is ticket only.

Tickets will be available from the main reception at Knutsford Academy or via email contact@knutsfordacademy.org.uk.
