THE Tatton Conservative Association has moved out of its historical home at the Conservative Club following the announcement of a new tenant.

Tory employees have been based in the building on Manchester Road since it was built in 1912 but will now move to an office on Windsor Way on the other side of Manchester Road.

Tatton Estate Management last week announced that luxury furniture and home accessories company, OKA Direct owned by Samantha Cameron’s mother, will open its new store in the building from spring 2016.

In an earlier statement to the Guardian, Tatton Estate Management said: “With regards to the Conservative Association, Tatton will continue to provide a home to the Association as the Estate has done for many decades.”

1a Windsor Way, which will now house the Tory employees, is also under Tatton Estate Management.

On Friday December 18, Knutsford based Kennedy removal company, was seen packing furniture into a van at the back of the Conservative Club building.

Cllr Hayley Wells-Bradshaw, constituency constituency agent, said: “We started the ball rolling, it was mutual consent and we are moving to another Tatton Estate building.

“It’s a better office, more fit for purpose and apart from the Christmas break it is business as usual for the Association and for Mr Osborne.

“The Conservative Club was constituency office for the old constituency of Knutsford. Throughout the that whole period, every Conservative MP apart from Martin Bell was based here.

“I first came for a meeting as a young Conservative when I was 15 years old.

“I am very happy to be moving. The place we are going to is better in all regards, but it is sad to leave the office I have worked in for 17 years. It is bigger brighter and better but it is emotional to say goodbye- but we are only going over the road.

“Tatton Estate Management have been great, arranged it all for us and the removal lads have been fantastic.”
