TATTON Estate has broken its silence over the next resident of the Knutsford Conservative Club building.

The property owner is set to welcome luxury furniture retailer, OKA Direct, into the building on Manchester Road.

OKA was established in 1999 by Lady Annabel Astor, Samantha Cameron’s mother, and currently operates from 12 shops across the UK alongside a mail order, online and trade service.

The company will open the doors to its latest Knutsford location in Spring 2016, providing employment opportunities and more business in the town.

Henry Brooks, managing director of Tatton Estate Management (TEM), said: “We were delighted to welcome so many of our clients, partners and community representatives to hear about the exciting new chapter for the Conservative Club.

“The OKA brand will be a perfect addition for Knutsford, offering a range of quintessentially British luxury furniture and accessories.

“2015 has been a phenomenal year for TEM. In addition to securing new tenants for the Town Hall, with an investment of over £2 million, and the Conservative Club; we were also appointed to manage additional assets with a value of over £10 million.

“We have an exciting pipeline for 2016 and we are also delighted to announce our new utilities division which marks a new chapter for our growing business.”

Tatton Estate Management was granted flexible planning permission on December 4 allowing it to change the use of the building for retail purposes.

The approved plans allowed a range of possibilities for the building including shops, financial and professional services, restaurants and cafes, offices and leisure facilities.

The bowling club will remain in situ as it has for a century, and the current Conservative Association employees will still work from the site.

According to the planning application, the new tenancy could create up to 25 jobs.
