LOCAL children’s charity, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, is to hold its 14th Annual Family Fun Day on Sunday, September 20 and are appealing for the help of their community to make it a huge success.

Each year the charity puts on this fantastic, free entry event for local families and individuals and they’re hoping to make this year’s event bigger than ever before!

Events Organiser Pippa Watton said: “Last year’s event raised an amazing £5,000 but we’re finding it increasingly difficult to secure sponsorship for this and our other events, which is why we’re now appealing for sponsors to come forward to pledge their support. Donations of all sizes will be welcome and acknowledged in the event programme – anything from £10 to £10,000! This is always such a fun, lively event, a great opportunity for our community to come together to celebrate the work we're doing here at the Adventure Farm.”

The charity provides holidays and day trips to terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the north west every year.

Their Patrons include comedians John Bishop and Jason Manford and 70’s rock legend Noddy Holder.

Each year the charity must raise £1million, they rely solely on voluntary contributions.

This year’s event will include many attractions such as children’s fairground rides, face painting from Elmscott Day Nursery & kiddies corner, live music, Junior Sports Stars inflatables plus stalls and games.

There will be animals galore as Stockley Farm are attending with their Petting Corner and for the braver guests – Reptacular Reptiles will be bringing some interesting friends!

The event will be hosted by local radio DJ, Mark Blackman.

He will be joined by a whole team of mascots including MUFC’s Fred the Red, MCFC’s Moonchester and Bobby, the charity’s own mascot.

The Farm Force will be strong thanks to some special guests – the Stormtroopers.

The charity will also be keeping guests fed & watered with delights such as a BBQ, traditional Tea Room and ice cream served from a VW vintage campervan courtesy of Ice Cream Dub.

Guests will also be able to view many of the charity’s excellent facilities, and even meet their alpacas and dinki donkeys.

The event will run from 1pm til 4pm, and the charity are confident in the region of 800 visitors will join them on the day.
