A NEW mum from Knutsford has decided to set up a new store in the town’s indoor market hall offering affordable clothes for babies and toddlers.

Milly Peel, who lives in Rostherne with her five-month old boy Ezra and husband Martin, decided to set up ‘Mimi’s Baby Boutique’ after realising there was a gap in the market.

She is all set to open the store on July 31, offering clothing for new born babies and children up to the age of five. Baby essentials will also be on offer including toys and bespoke gifts produced by mums in the Cheshire area.

“I’ve had my son and he was born five months ago and I don’t believe there is much that is affordable in the Knutsford area,” Milly told the Guardian.

“You have to go out of town really and when you go out you are with your child so it’s good to have somewhere close by.

“I’ve already got 400 ‘likes’ on Facebook and that was in the first 48 hours and everything has gone mad. I went to Bexton Primary School fair and feedback from that was that it was something that Knutsford needs.”

The town’s indoor market is undergoing a period of renaissance, with Knutsford Town Council taking it over from Cheshire East Council earlier this year.

The hall is currently home to Alan’s Fruit and Veg, Mike’s Poultry, David’s Cards, Ian’s Butchers, Kath’s Cafe, Andrea’s Clothing, Mike and Alan’s Household Store and Jacqui’s, which sells jewellery, handbags and watches.

Milly said her husband Martin, who runs M-S-P Building Contractors, is in the midst of completing the refit.

Milly added: “Everyone is really, really friendly at the market hall and there’s an array of shops in there.

“I only decided a couple of weeks ago to go ahead with it and I haven’t been in there for a long time, since I was a child. My husband is revamping it at the moment, so it’s how I want it to be.”

‘Mimi’s Baby Boutique’ will be open when the hall is open on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, as well as Sunday.
