BUSKERS will be performing for loose change from music fans at a summer fete to boost their support for a cancer charity.

The 25-strong Timperley-based buskers group Loose Change was formed in 2010, and raises money for Cancer Research UK.

Over four and a half years the group has raised a staggering £178,000 for the national charity, and members of the group are to perform at The Willows dementia nursing care home in Mobberley on Saturday, June 20.

The Willows is part of MHA, a charity providing care, accommodation and support services for more than 16,000 older people across Britain.

The home is in Faulkner’s Lane, and is staging a summer fete on June 20 as part of a national open day being organised by the charity.

The fete runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, and is due to be opened by Cheshire East Mayor Hilda Gaddum, accompanied by Mayoress Jane Gaddum.

Money collected by Loose Change will go to Cancer Research UK, and money raised by the fete will go towards providing activities for residents who have dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.

Members of the public as well as family and friends are welcome to attend the fete.
