KNUTSFORD Community Choir is launching next year with an aim of bringing people together who have never sung or have lost their confidence.

Cheshire Community Choirs already exist in Bramhall and Heald Green with an ethos to enjoy singing in a friendly environment without any pressure.

The choirs have so far taken on members who have suffered coronary problems, dementia and other physical difficulties.

Kate Firth, choir director, said: “We work hard but have a great deal of fun and laugh constantly. It is a wonderful feeling seeing people get together and make new friends.

“There is a true community feel and many members often meet outside the choir for a coffee and chat.”

Ms Firth was a competitive A Cappella singer and was part of a ladies quartet who became European Champions in 2004.

As well as having an expert director, there are no auditions and performances are informal, so this is a unique opportunity for people of Knutsford to gain proficient but relaxed vocal training.

The Knutsford Community Choir will meet every Friday from 16th January for a 10 week term and all members can attend as many choirs and as many sessions as they wish each week.
