KNUTSFORD Academy students are celebrating following another set of good A-level results.

This year, 98 percent of students in Year 13 achieved passes at the examinations, with grades A* to E.

A total of 70 percent of Year 13 students achieved passes at grades A* to C, and 95 percent of students achieved three A-level passes.

Acting principal James Whittaker said: “The students have worked very hard to gain these results. We are delighted with their achievements and wish them every success for the future, whether that is at university or in their chosen career paths.”

Three top performers were from the same estate in Knutsford.

Mereheath Park resident Rhona Kerr achieved two A*s in Maths and Graphic Design and an A in Physics. In September she will be enrolling at Sheffield University to study Civil and Structural Engineering.

"It was way above what I was expecting, I was so surprised," she told the Guardian.

Rhona's fellow student and neighbour Peter Keeble, 18, is looking forward to university life after achieving three A*s in his A-levels.

Peter, 18, who studied Maths, Further Maths, and Economics at A-level, will be heading to Newcastle University in September to complete a degree in Maths.

"I am very happy and quite surprised, to be honest, I wasn't expecting quite that high," he said.

Katherine Adams, 18, also from Mereheath Park, will be heading off to Leeds University to study English Literature and Drama Studies.

She achieved four As in History, English Literature, Drama and Maths, as well as a Distinction in Music Theatre.

"I was pleased but very nervous," she said. "I am very happy with the results."

Fellow high-flier Frankie Gerrard, 18, from Knutsford, is London-bound after achieving two A*s, an A and a Distinction.

Frankie will be studying at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

"I always open results with my mum, it's a kind of tradition, so I sneaked off to open them," she said.

"I'm really happy it's all over, it's all been worth it."
