First King Street market goes down a treat with townsfolk
KNUTSFORD held its first ever Makers Market on King Street on Sunday – and it seemed to go down well with townsfolk.
The trial was requested by Knutsford Town Council following calls by a number of King Street retailers who expressed a desire for the monthly event, which is usually positioned on Princess Street, to be held on King Street.
And looking at social media, the change of scenery seemed to go down well with regulars.
On Twitter Sarah (@aristography) said: “Makers market on King St got totally fresh vibe worth a visit again new stalls #makersmarket #knutsford.”
Rachel Brown (@RachelsApproach) added: “Knutsford market is a proper market!! Impressed :)”
JustLikeItUsedToBe (@Justlikeituse2B) said: “Super day today in #knutsford, lovely people, thanks @_makersmarket for organising brilliantly another successful & friendly event!”
Julie Tempest (@stormyjoolz) added: “What a great day at #Knutsford @_makersmarket! Loved the King Street vibe! Spent up but very happy :-)”
Shona brown (@Shosho2) said: “Loving the @_makersmarket on King Street today!! Such a fab atmosphere!! Well done guys!! #knutsfordmakers #Knutsford #ShopLocal.”
Adam Keppel-Garner, town clerk at Knutsford Town Council, said the King Street market trial would be discussed at an events committee meeting on Monday, June 9.
“We haven’t had all the numbers back yet but the market will be discussed at the event meeting on the 9th, that is when the data will be discussed,” he said.
“If anyone has any feedback of how it went then let me know by calling 01565 653929.”
Mr Keppel-Garner added the council would make a decision at that meeting on whether the market takes place on King Street again.
