A DOG owner is appealing for witnesses after his pet was hit by a vehicle in Mere last month.

Cheshire Police were called to Mereside Road at around midday on April 18, after reports a dog had been hit by a vehicle.

The dog was later taken to the vets and put down.  The owner would like anyone that witnessed the collision or has any information regarding the incident to contact the police on 101.
