TO celebrate an extra-special Royal May Day, organisers of the funfair on the Heath are promising three new rides for 2014; Sky High, Sea Storm and Voodoo Revenge.

Knutsford’s May Day Fun Fair is the UK’s biggest bank holiday fun fair with over 100 rides and attractions, and will return to the Heath from tomorrow, May 1, to May 5.

Fun fair boss John Collins said: “Knutsford is the highlight of our annual fairground calendar and we’re proud to support the Royal May Day Festival as it reaches this special milestone.

“My own family has been providing the rides and attractions on the Heath for over 100 years and I’m pleased that we’ve managed to assemble such a great selection for this anniversary year.”

Passengers of the 100ft tall Sky High ride can expect views of Tatton Park, Jodrell Bank and Manchester Airport, and Sea Storm has been specially imported from Germany for its May Day appearance.

The fair kicks off at 6pm tomorrow, Thursday, and will open at the same time on Friday.

It will be open from 1pm on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
