NSPCC are on the hunt for Cheshire Woman of the Year 2014 and are appealing for readers’ help in finding this year’s winner.
The children’s charity needs readers to nominate ‘exceptional’ women from their community and nominations must be received by Saturday January 25.
Nominees can be women from all walks of life, who have shown courage, achieved outstanding professional success, or given services to their community. They should live, work, or have been born in Cheshire of the Wirral.
Sylvia Cheater, Chair of the Cheshire Woman of the Year committee, said: “The Cheshire Woman of the Year celebration is a way of paying tribute to all the women across the region who have made a real difference to their communities – many are unsung heroes.
“Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors it also raises much needed funds for the NSPCC and vulnerable children. This year we are delighted to be backing the charity’s ChildLine Schools Service to help educate children to ensure they are happy, safe and protected from harm.”
The Cheshire Woman of the Year award first launched in 1984 and has raised over £265,000 to help children in Cheshire and Wirral. The event raised over £7,000 for the NSPCC last year alone.
Nominated women will be invited to attend a lunch next April where the winner will be announced and presented with an award.
