A LITTLE pink piglet caused a huge amount of fuss on October 7 when it went on the run round Knutsford Academy.
The escaped youngster was spotted in the playground on Monday afternoon and the school caretaker tried to rescue it.
However, the piggy proved to be faster than first expected and outrun the caretaker and the teachers before making its way onto Bexton Road.
School receptionist Melanie Kurbishley said: “All the kids were very concerned about the piglet. We have no idea where it came from as it has no tags. It is the cutest little thing.”
Nearby resident David Isaac was called to the scene and eventually caught the shaken pig. He took it home to make it comfortable and called numerous authorities but no-one would take the pig on.
Eventually Carol Newport, the Animal Welfare Officer for Cheshire East Council, took him to a farm in Tabley where he is currently being looked after.
