A GROUP of Knutsford dentists who cycled from their practice to Abersoch have raised more than £1,500 for charity after completing the 125-mile trek.
Gaskell Avenue dentists Simon Warburton, 53, Alastair Kennedy, 55 and Jonathan Eaton, 50, set off on April 20 to take on the ride in aid of East Cheshire Hospice, based in Macclesfield.
Simon told the Guardian: “We set off at 6.30am in mist and minus 2 degrees, with an increasing head wind and we arrived between 6pm and 8pm at the bunkhouse where we stayed overnight just inland from Abersoch.
“It was a good job we didn’t go the day after when it rained all the way home in the minibus.
“We had an unscheduled long stop in Chester to wait for a cycle shop to open to replace a tyre damaged by glass and there were a couple more punctures.”
