KNUTSFORD turned out in force to welcome the first regular Artisan Market to the town on Sunday.

Thousands of residents and visitors to the town enjoyed a sunny day to stroll around the 100 stalls selling food, arts and crafts.

Sellers of cheese, bread, pies and patisseries were among the stallholders lining Princess Street, while the area in front of the Old Town Hall was a thriving hub of shoppers looking for a bargain.

On Twitter, Val Dawson said: “Reckon the @_ArtisanMarket is a great success.

“Knutsford busy and spending. Great stalls, foodies fiesta and giant meringue.”

The market organisers added: “Thank you so much Knutsford for a fabulous day. Thank you to all our visitors, loose change buskers and our talented traders.”

Loose change collected at the market raised £730 for Cancer Research.

Knutsford’s Artisan Market – organised by Knutsford Town Council – will be in Princess Street on the first Sunday of every month from 11am to 4pm.
