EXPECT a psychedelic show for the space age with the announcement that the Australian Pink Floyd Show will be playing at Jodrell Bank.

The renowned tribute act will perform at Live From Jodrell Bank on Saturday, July 6, in celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Dark Side of the Moon.

Australian Pink Floyd are described as the biggest and most spectacular Pink Floyd show on the planet.

Having sold more than three million tickets and performed in more than 35 countries, the show is modelled on Pink Floyd’s tours in 1987 and 1994.

Stunning visuals will also be displayed on the 76-metre Lovell Telescope.

This live show impressed David Gilmour so much he invited Australian Pink Floyd to perform on his 50th birthday.

The band said: “The music and spirit of Pink Floyd very much embodies ambition and a sense of wonder at the expanses that lie within and without us all.

“Throughout the band’s work there are references to space, the planets and the known and unknown universe around us.

“Pink Floyd have often been described as a British icon, and this is something which, surely, Jodrell Bank also qualifies as.

“The Australian Pink Floyd Show are delighted to have the opportunity to perform some of this wonderful music against such an amazing backdrop.

“For us to be a footnote in the Jodrell Bank history is an honour.”

The £35 ticket price includes access to hands-on experiments and science workshops on site, with full access to the Discovery Centre. Tickets are on sale on Friday. Visit livefromjodrellbank.com/ tickets.
