AN art sale has raised more than £200 for the town mayor’s charities.
The Painting for Pleasure group arranged an art sale at the Methodist Church Hall in Knutsford on December 17.
Paintings were donated by members of the group for sale, Sue Newhouse contributed embroidery pictures, cards and calendars, and Suzie and Rosemary Johnson had a table full of cards and other items made by them for sale.
The event was organised by Mike Tolchard, who runs the Painting for Pleasure Group, and assisted by John Wriggles, whose work sold well.
The event was in aid of the Mayor’s Charities, East Cheshire Hospice, the Royal British Legion and Knutsford Royal May Day.
Clr Vivien Davies said: “As Mayor of Knutsford I attended and helped with the event, and would like to thank all those who contributed to the sale for their generosity and hard work and to the public who found time to view the art work, partake of coffee, mince pies and biscuits and bought art work.
“Thank you to everyone – £235 was made and has gone into the Mayor’s charity account.”
