Local estate agent, Gascoigne Halman, took the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity’s mascot, Humphrey, to new fundraising heights when he accompanied the team on a walk up Kinder Scout.
This was the estate agent’s fifth fundraiser in its year-long quest to raise money for this very worthwhile charity.
Staff from Gascoigne Halman’s 17 offices took part with their families and canine friends, raising £350, taking the total raised by the estate agent so far this year to £8,066.
The walkers met Humphrey at the Sportsman’s Inn at Hayfield on a wet Sunday, but the rain didn’t put them off, and they put their best feet forward to head up Kinder Scout, taking in the stunning scenery as they went.
Gascoigne Halman’s fundraising kicked off with a loose change amnesty in April followed by a bakethon in June. An Olympic baton relay and skydive took place over the summer followed by the Kinder Scout walk.
John Halman, managing director of Gascoigne Halman, said: “Once again the team has turned out to take part in a fundraising event. Despite the poor weather we had a super day and Humphrey really enjoyed the outing.”
A Santa dash is planned for December.
