I despair at the preoccupation of local politicians and residents debating national issues, eg Brexit, in the Opinion column of the Knutsford Guardian.

Not only am I disturbed by the ‘analysis paralysis’ over Brexit, I believe local politicians should be focusing their minds and time on local issues. I am sick and tired of reading letters from Sam Corcoran on national issues when his priorities should be concentrated on making Cheshire East Council more effective. I would suggest he uses his time to sort out the ineffective Highways and Planning Departments plus the protracted delays to reorganising the archaic Cabinet system of governance at CEC.

His hubristic list of qualifications following his name on his posted letters should indicate he has the ability to see effective and focused local government should be his priority.
