HOW disappointing that once again Waitrose, one of our largest retailers, have shown that they cannot be bothered to support the town and brighten up Princess Street during the RHS event.
I hope that they are shamed by the many independent stores, especially Pulse of Perfumery opposite their door, who make such an effort, as shown on the front page of the Guardian.
It is particularly galling that Waitrose don’t bother supporting our town when they spent thousands of pounds exhibiting at the Southern Chelsea Flower show in a joint stand with the NFU ’Celebrating Britishness’.
Come on Waitrose, next year why not spend a little of your ‘British’ profits Up North in Knutsford; surely a few hanging baskets wouldn’t affect your bottom line?
