GOOD luck to Jacqueline Monro in calling out the police to the Pub in the Park event.
The police no longer come out to serious matters such as burglaries, let alone some people having fun in a field. Indeed some time ago, their response time to an armed robbery at a local shop was 48 hours.
No-one is listening to you, Ms Monro, even if you live in a posh house. The police certainly won’t care about this event, and neither will they be terribly bothered if you are burgled.
However, if you report a hate crime against yourself, then they will send three squad cars, ignoring completely someone down the road who has had an actual crime committed against them.
Our police need a new commissioner to readdress their priorities to properly protect us, instead of running after non crimes that are easy to deal with.
