Actually most of the methane comes from the breath rather than the other end.
The vegan diet is the biggest way to reduce your impact on the planet, not just greenhouse gases, but global acidification, eutrophication and algal blooms (this is the other end) also land and water use.

The comparison of beef with plant protein is six times more GHG and 36 times more land use.
Converting grass into meat is like converting coal into energy.
As with most things in life it is about understanding, not taking an extreme stance.
No one expects a vegan society by tomorrow. However the threat we all face from climate change and biodiversity loss is existential, real and imminent.
