I AM disappointed that your commentator Barlow’s Brew should be peddling ignorance and finding the future for our children a source of amusing flippancy rather than a matter of serious comment as the most important issue of our time – climate change.
A major contributor to atmospheric greenhouse gasses is our increasing dependence on domestic animals.
Yes, the animals produce methane, one form of greenhouse gas, but they also need forest clearance for grassland thus reducing carbon absorbing trees.
Further more the advice from experts is not to eliminate meat but to reduce it in our diets.
To cast doubt on the idea of expertise and scientific knowledge itself is part of the agenda of populist media and politicians who have no interest in the future we make here and now for our children.
