THERE is an area of the historic parkland at Booths Park that has been identified as Safeguarded Land.
This means it is safeguarded for the lifetime of the recently agreed Cheshire East Local Plan and cannot be developed before 2030.
Knutsford resident and community groups met with Cheshire East’s planning department earlier in the year and they confirmed that there was no possible reason for developing safeguarded land before 2030.
They also said that there would need to be a clear case for extra housing requirement after 2030 for safeguarded land to be considered at that stage too.
There has been more than enough land provided by Knutsford for the growth requirements of the Cheshire East local plan and we do not need further unwarranted development of our important green belt land.
