TAKING full advantage of the recent glorious summer weather the Scouting family in Knutsford district has taken part in many and varied camps and other outside activities.

A large party of Scouts and leaders travelled to the Scout Activity Centre in Switzerland, Scouts also camped at Tolmers Activity Centre in London and in Macclesfield. Cubs attended the Cheshire Jamboree on the Tabley Showground and other camps have been enjoyed at various locations.

This has enabled the Scouts to use the various skills they have learned over the winter months.

However, none of it would be possible without the work put in by a team of a dedicated volunteer leaders and helpers.

They give up their time and energy to provide enjoyable and exciting activities in order to promote the development of young people to achieve their full physical, intellectual and social potential.

The residents of Knutsford are very fortunate to have leaders and helpers willing to ensure through Scouting the opportunities it provides.

Next year six Explorer Scouts and four leaders will be attending the World Scout Jamboree in America where they will meet members of the Scouting movement from more than 200 countries and will no doubt bring back many fantastic memories.
