FOLLOWING very positive comment at week’s Community Remembrance event at Knutsford War Memorial, we are asking Guardian readers to help collect petition signatures to present to Cheshire East Council, British Red Cross, and others, to save Knutsford War Memorial.
We hope to prevent the demolition of Knutsford War Memorial and need all the help we can get.

We have downloadable paper petition forms – with return address, at: https://www.facebook.com/ groups/245042519182932/files/ It is understood that McCarthy & Stone will apply to Cheshire East Council for permission to demolish in December.
If permission is refused, it is unlikely that they will complete the buying from British Red Cross.
If this community wants to keep its Knutsford War Memorial, it must act now, before Cheshire East Council gives any right to demolish.
