WELL, congratulations to the Knutsford Guardian on being ahead of the national press!
In last week’s issue two correspondents criticised Mr Osborne for, amongst other things his new job with Black Rock asset management, which you had reported online at the start of the week.
And there were many more people who criticised him online.
This is widely reported as being one day a week for £200,000 a year.
Apart from being a handsome rate of pay, it is also one day a week less that he is able to devote to his constituents, for which he is admittedly paid only the paltry sum of £75,000 a year.
Can we assume that, as a fairminded man, and one-time guardian of the nation’s finances, Mr Osborne will be remitting a proportion of his MP’s salary back to the Treasury?
