PARENTS of a vast majority of children at Bexton School do not appear to have any regard to the measures put in place at their request and to the annoyance of residents.

We now have a vast amount of yellow lines on which they park.

There are "slow down" signs which do not work and are an ugly addition to the area.

I also understand pressure is now mounting for a pedestrian crossing which will cause more nuisance and annoyance to residents.

Parents ignore the yellow lines, park on corners which affects visibility, create problems for residents by parking close to their driveways and thereby affect them getting their cars in and out of their properties.

A large number also load and offload their children on the offside, thereby causing blockages to other cars and danger to their children.

Furthermore, parents park in long lines without adequate space to allow cars to pull in. This causes further problems as vehicles have to mount footpaths or verges.

I have heard it said that it is the residents who cause the dangers to children but, in my view, it is the parents of the children who are to blame.

I have never seen a police presence at the relevant times.

It may help if they attended at regular intervals and took appropriate action against those who ignore the parking restrictions and create obstructions and danger.

I am sending copies of this letter to the police in Knutsford and the school so it is aware of the residents’ feelings and may try to educate the parents.
