I AM a housewife and hold the purse for any purchases needed to run our household.
My husband is an accountant and has always been supportive of my expenses.
Any housewife would check their finances before making any meaningful purchases.
I am absolutely disgusted that in the area to be carved out of our beautiful countryside, farmers are to lose their livelihood, some after generations of working the land because of HS2.
Houses are to be demolished with no thought of owners’ feelings.
So there will be adequate compensation.
That does not mean a thing when lives are wrecked.
I am sickened to see Lord, or Sir so-and-so, on television trying to persuade everyone what a wonderful project this will be.
Do they live where the land is to be carved up?
Do they know anything about the people farming there?
Our present politicians also should take the blame for everything connected with this awful plan.
They evidently do not look in their purses before planning something of this stupid enormity.
