I AM in full agreement with the letter from Rick Weightman, Guardian, October 1, regarding the chaos caused by the Mobberley Road closure.

I had a similar experience travelling in the opposite direction when attempting to drive to Mobberley.

I came out of Legh Road with the intention of crossing over to the suggested diversion, only to find the diversion blocked off.

I then went down to the Brook Street traffic lights expecting to turn right there but that too was blocked off.

I was then left with others in the middle of the lights blocking two lanes of traffic.

When we eventually sorted ourselves out and went back up to the Legh Arms we found that the diversion was now open. So what was that all about?

Returning later the same day I had more problems. I followed the diversion but when I reached the end of Manor Park South I found that was blocked off.

I asked the workman how I was supposed to continue my journey and he told me to turn around and use Mobberley Road, part of which was now open!

Everyone I’ve spoken to in the last few days has had similar problems when driving to and from the Mobberley side of town.

Who is responsible for this and how much longer are we to suffer?
