ALTHOUGH there is still no news of the health and wellbeing centre for Knutsford, the authorities concerned have decided to impose punitive parking charges on patients using the Knutsford Community Hospital, Guardian, October 1.
Apparently the money raised will go to improving services, but as we have so few left, presumably any funds raised will go to pay for services in other areas?
Head of facilities at East Cheshire NHS Trust, Tim Ward, said that the charges will deter non-hospital users from using the car park, and mean local people will be able to park more easily and securely.
I feel Mr Ward has underestimated Knutsford people as they will not be willing to pay the charges knowing there is a larger, cheaper car park near to the KCH as well as parking on nearby streets, even if the residents will be unhappy to see their streets even more clogged up.
