UNDERDOGS Knutsford Cons C hope to repeat their giantkilling trick of the previous round when the Knutsford and District League’s Team Knockout resumes tomorrow, Tuesday.

The Division Two minnows, who sent out top tier Tatton in the last 16, take on another Division One outfit in the form of Wilmslow Cons A at Morley.

Elsewhere title favourites Mobberley A will be confident of preserving their unblemished record against clubmates Mobberley C, while Mere B may seek to emulate Knutsford Cons C’s feat by beating a higher-ranked rival in Royal London A.

Division Two promotion hopefuls Morley meet Mobberley B in the quarter finals’ remaining tie.

Meanwhile Mobberley A’s rivals made the most of the leaders’ week off.

Royal London A racked up close to 500 points in a whitewash of Tatton, Ian Willson starring with breaks of 71 and then 42 in his 120-points frame.

They trail the table-toppers, who have a game in hand, by four points.

Knutsford Cons B stay third after winning at Wilmslow Cons A, while Mobberley B won for only the third time this term against relegation rivals Brook Street.

In Division Two Shaw Heath B earned a share of the lead, at least temporarily with pacesetters Morley out of action, after whitewashing Mere D.

Wilmslow Cons B remain in contention thanks to Richard Bayley’s 103-points haul in their success at Mere B, overtaking Mobberley C following their reverse against Royal London B.

Mobberley D were victors at Knutsford Cons C, leaving Shaw Heath A and Wilmslow Cons C as the week’s other winners at the expense of Knutsford Cons A and Mere A respectively.
