JONATHAN Smith was the star turn in Wilmslow Cons A’s emphatic win over Mere A in the latest round of matches in the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top tier, writes Tony Crompton.

He knocked in breaks of 83 and 42 in the three visits he needed to win his frame.

Mobberley A stay top of Division One after a flattering win at Brook Street A, whose B team took two points off reigning champions Morley A despite John Bell’s 102-points frame.

Bob Spilsbury chalked up 103 points in Mobberley C’s home victory over high-fliers Tatton A in Division Two.

Elsewhere Morley B, helped by Paul Hart’s 30-break, proved too strong for Mere B while Knutsford Cons A thrashed Royal London B.

Mobberley B still lead the way following their home win against Wilmslow Cons C, while Mere C edged out their D team clubmates in their bottom-of-the-table derby duel.
