BROOK Street B sealed promotion to the Knutsford and District Amateur League’s top tier this week, writes Tony Crompton.

Their victory over Knutsford Cons C included a 100-point frame by Rick Brookman as they edged out Wilmslow Cons B in the race to join champions Mere A in Division One next term.

Shaw Heath share fourth spot with Mobberley C, for whom Garry Twitchett notched a 106-point frame in their win over Mere B.

Neil Marshall (Mobberley) scored his maiden league title with victory over Royal London’s Mark Newall in the Jay Trophy final at Tatton.

In a brilliant final of cameo breaks Newall, making history as the first player to reach the final of all five knockout competitions in the same season, missed a tricky pink in the final frame to open the door for his opponent.

Team Knockout Cup champions Mobberley D edged out Divisoin one table-toppers Morley A to claim the President’s Trophy.

Both finalists donated their winnings to Pendlebury Children’s Hospital.
