THIS Knutsford youngster looks like being one to watch for the future in the world of snowboarding.
Bexton Primary School pupil Jacob Blake, 7, was recently the youngest male competitor at the National Northern Indoor Snowsports Championships despite having only taken up the sport six months ago.
However, the dedication he has shown certainly paid off as he came away with a gold medal in the slalom speed racing category at Manchester’s Chill Factore.

“He’s only been boarding since March but has been training every week for almost 20 hours each week now,” Jacob’s proud mum Abi said.
“His dedication, hard work and determination is unbelievable.
“It was Jacob’s decision to try it – he’d been wanting to for years but he was too young for group lessons.
“In March, he’d asked for so long and had been pressing me to try, so he had his first lesson and has never looked back.
“Even with the hard falls he’s had, he’s learnt to get back up and keep going.”
The Year Three pupil will now move on to compete nationally at the British Freestyle Snowboarding Championships in Hemel Hempstead later this year.
