THERE will surely now be a new name on the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League trophy

Shaw Heath lead the way as the season reaches its halfway point while Mobberley A’s bid for a 10th title in a row appears to be in tatters.

Shaw Heath are two points clear at the summit after their 10th win in 11 matches – a 5-2 triumph over Mobberley B.

Morley Green’s slip-up – a 5-2 loss to Wilmslow Cons A – saw them drop to second.

Tatton A are still in contention after thrashing clubmates Tatton C 6-1 while the club’s B team were 5-2 victors over Mobberley C.

The bottom two both enjoyed fine victories – Wilmslow Cons B won 5-2 against Mere A, for whom James Owen’s frame score of 103 was in vain while a frame of 108 from Tony Jackson helped Mere C thrash Mobberley A 6-1.
