IT was a largely successful weekend for Knutsford Hockey Club, with three victories out of four for the senior teams.

The biggest victors were the women’s firsts, who thrashed Macclesfield’s seconds 7-1 at home.

Suzi Weir, Sarah Fielding and Nat Riley all scored twice for Knutsford, with Jess Flack also on the scoresheet while Kim Nkonde was named player of the match.

The men’s thirds were impressive 3-0 victors on the road at Deeside Ramblers’ seventh team, with player of the match Archie Silverdale the star of the show.

He slotted Knutsford’s first goal from a tight angle while two excellent second-half finishes from Nick Pedlow and Dave Hickson saw them extend the lead.

With John Squires mopping up everything in defence, the visitors wrapped up a comfortable win.

Hickson also netted both goals for the men’s firsts as they won 2-1 at Lymm’s seconds, with Ed Higgs winning the player of the match award.

Unfortunately, the men’s seconds could not make it a full house as they were beaten 5-2 at home by Macclesfield’s thirds.

Both Knutsford goals came from player of the match Isaac Wasilewski.
