FOR the second consecutive week, Knutsford CC teams banked maximum points.

The first team hosted Langley and won by 69 runs.

Batting first, the loss of five quick wickets was steadied by the solidity of Waqar Khan's 64, ably supported by Saqlain (50) who increased the pace with four maximums once set.

Ghazanfar (20) and Tariq Khan (28) added useful contributions to the final tally of 186-9.

In response, Langley were unable to dictate against the new-ball pairing of Saqlain (2-12) and Tariq Khan (4-32), whose combined 20 overs conceded only 44 runs.

Skipper Bhatti collected 3-15 with Ali taking the last wicket to dismiss the opposition for 117.

At Lindow, the seconds scored 194-9 in their allotted 40 overs, with Hussain (37) and Khan (45) putting on 80.

There were double figure contributions from Downey, Shimul, Raza, Ali and Alam.

Lindow's top order failed against the pace of Asif (2-27) and Khan (2-24) to fall well behind the run rate.

The second-string bowlers maintained disciplines throughout as the home side batted through to end on 145-9, with Alif (2-16), Alam (1-26) and Shimul (2-12) also playing a part.

At the halfway stage, the seconds remain one point off the promotion slot, while the first team are in sixth place.
