THE historic Hancock Trophy saw a Knutsford one-two at Sale Golf Club.
Frank and Kate McKenna, who live in the town but represent Ringway Golf Club, stormed through to the top of the leaderboard to take the title on 45 points.
Knutsford Golf Club professional Tim Maxwell and his wife Suzy looked to be cruising to victory but had to settle for second place on 42 points.
The Maxwells did hold onto top spot in the pro-am section, however, as they finished one point clear of Davyhulme Park’s Martyn Hamer and Carol Brady. Iain Davie and Jan Hare of Hazel Grove finished a point further back.
Tim made sure of a double as he took home the individual pro prize on 40 points as he finished one clear of Davie, with Poulton Park’s Phil Archer scoring 37.
