ALDERLEY Edge Golf Club have crowned a new club champion.

A consistent display over two rounds from Logan Stanyer saw him take the title, with his net aggregate of 132 seeing him finish well clear of any rivals.

Stanyer set the pace with a net 71 of round one, with Drew Roberts (73) and Harry Sexton (74) close behind.

He maintained his momentum in the second round with another 71, with Sexton a further shot behind while Gary Johnstone finished on 76.

It meant Stanyer finished 10 clear of Roberts (142) in the final standings, with Johnstone and Sexton both finishing on 143.

Over at Styal, Dylan Bennett has been crowned the club’s new junior champion after a neat 68 saw him finish ahead of the field.

Isabella Taylor-Stokes was a shot further back, with Cole Brown finishing on 73.

Styal’s latest Friday Frolics saw James Thomas stroll to victory on 27 points ahead of Matt Mountney (22) and Lee Cullen (21).

The club’s latest Seniors Winter League Stableford was won by Neil Cowan on 40 points – four more than the quintet of David Wrigley, David Murray, Graham Swann, Colin Fellowes and Chris Baillie.
