WARRINGTON Town have made three further signings on the eve of the new season, the Guardian can exclusively reveal.

Midfielder Scott Brown returns to the club on a season-long loan deal from Harrogate Town, while Yellows have also secured the signatures of full-back James Baillie and forward Iyrwah Gooden.

All three new additions are likely to go straight into the squad for Town’s opening game of the Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division campaign at Basford United on Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Efforts to sign a goalkeeper are ongoing and despite the opening game being just two days away, the Guardian understands the club remain confident of securing an agreement in time.

Brown, 35, spent a successful spell on loan at Cantilever Park last season and returns to bolster Town’s midfield options.

His career has seen him take in spells at the likes of Accrington Stanley, Bristol City and Southport among others.

Warrington-born Baillie has been on trial with the club during pre-season and has featured in several of Town’s friendly matches.

Having started his career with Crewe Alexandra, the 24-year-old former Lymm High School student had a loan spell with Nantwich Town but has spent the past four seasons at Curzon Ashton.

Pacey forward Gooden was on the books at Mansfield Town but spent last season with Ramsbottom United in the NPL North West Division, scoring eight times in 29 appearances.

He also enjoyed a loan spell with the Rams during the 2018-19 campaign, netting three times in 15 games.
