HOLMES Chapel’s Jake Wilson put in a fine display in wretched conditions during Saturday’s National Cross Country Championships.
Running for Vale Royal Athletics Club, Wilson finished a fine eighth out of 364 competitors in the under 15s boys race.
It continues his fine cross country form having gone into the race as the second-place finisher in both the Cheshire and Northern Counties Championships.
His efforts also helped the Vale Royal team finish 20th out of 40 alongside teammates Lukas-Sebastian Ellis, Joshua Williamson and Harry Godwin
