TRUE to form Mel Hill dominated the latest Styal Golf Club women’s winter league stableford at Styal with 22 points.

Lynsey Forsythe, 17, and Enid Laverty and Helen Billington, both 15, were her nearest rivals.

The club’s seniors played a regressive team stableford and leading in with 74 points were R Vaal, P Booth and A Ghost.

Hot on their heels with 73 were P Lawday, C Baillie and L Rowland.

The Styal seniors then played a Texas scramble and N Gillings, Mike Hinde and H Mitchell led in with 56.8 from J Mosedale, P Carr and D Greenwood 60.8 and D Lamb, T Marsden and A Guy 61.5.

A pro’s 9-hole stableford at Alderley Edge was won by Michael Easton after a cpo on 16 points with Nige Howells.

The final draws are now out for the Manchester and District Alliance inter-club knockouts.

One of the most popular with nearly 90 clubs in the field is the Mixed Foursomes for the Archie Preston Trophy.

Teams getting through to round one with byes include Alderley Edge, Styal and Wilmslow.

Styal also have a bye to round one of the the Alliance Seniors Knockout.

Last year Ringway Golf Club juniors won the Williams BMW Junior Ko and they have a bye into round two alongside Warrington and Manchester.

The preliminary round draw for the Williams BMW Junior Knockout features Knutsford versus Styal.
