THE latest Winter League match at Alderley Edge Golf Club ended in an entertaining halved affair.
Club professional Charles le Sueur and vice-captain Bob Anderson went three down early against Gary Olson and Neil McGuinness but fired back to move ahead just after the turn.
Olson and McGuinness retook the lead with three holes to play but another fightback meant the spoils were shared.
Meanwhile, Chris Brandon won Alderley's 9-hole Stableford on 21 points – one clear of playing partner Alex Campbell.
Ivon Bloor was victorious in a Wednesday 9-hole Stableford at Styal, but he needed a cpo to beat Kevin Doherty after both finished on 21 points.
Styal's seniors were in Winter League action, with Graham Swann's dominant 42-point haul taking him well clear of Paul Jones (38) in second.
For the ladies, Mel Hill was in firm control with 23 points – three ahead of Gayle Blackburn.
A mixed foursomes at Mottram Hall was led in by Mike Richardson and P Draper with 41 points as they finished well clear of S Nicholson and N Robinson (36) and A Watson and R O’Keefe (34).
